Vikram Solar’s initial public offering (IPO) continued to witness strong demand on the second day of bidding. As of 3:15 PM, the issue received bids for nearly four times the shares on offer.

The Vikram Solar IPO, which opened for bidding on August 19, will close on August 21. So far, the non-institutional investors' category was subscribed 11 times, while the retail investor portion received bids 3.1 times, and the employee quota was subscribed 2 times. The qualified institutional buyers category so gar received only 0.09 times subscription.

Prior to the opening of the subscription window, on August 18, Vikram Solar raised Rs 620.81 crore from anchor investors by allotting 1,86,99,120 equity shares at Rs 332 per share, the upper end of the price band. Of this, domestic mutual funds were allotted 97,96,275 equity shares, or 52.39 per cent of the anchor allocation, spread across 22 schemes from nine mutual fund houses. Their cumulative investment its IPO shares amounts to Rs 315.44 crore.

Mutual Fund Schemes Investing in Vikram Solar IPO

The following 22 mutual fund schemes have bought stakes in Vikran Solar.

Kotak Mahindra Trustee:

  • Kotak Multi Asset Allocation Fund:  8,38,620 shares (4.48 per cent), amounting to Rs 27.84 crore.

  • Kotak Manufacture in India Fund: 4,81,950 shares (2.58 per cent), amounting to Rs 16 crore.

  • Kotak Energy Opportunities Fund: 1,86,345 shares (1 per cent), amounting to Rs 6.18 crore.

Franklin Templeton:

  • Franklin India Smallcap Fund: 12,05,280 shares (6.45 per cent), amounting to Rs 40.01 crore.

  • Franklin India Opportunities Fund: 12,05,235 shares (6.45 per cent), amounting to Rs 40.01 crore.

Nippon Life India Trustee:

  • Nippon Power & Infra Fund: 6,02,640 shares (3.22 per cent), amounting to Rs 20.00 crore.

  • Nippon India Retirement Fund - Wealth Creation Scheme: 6,02,595 shares (3.22 per cent), amounting to Rs 20 crore.

UTI:

  • UTI Value Fund: 8,63,775 shares (4.62 per cent), amounting to Rs 28.67 crore.

  • UTI-Infrastructure Fund: 3,01,320 shares (1.61 per cent), amounting to Rs 10 crore.

  • UTI Conservative Hybrid Fund: 40,140 shares (0.21 per cent), amounting to Rs 1.33 crore.

  • Tata Large Cap Fund: 7,23,600 shares (3.87 per cent), amounting to Rs 24.02 crore.

  • Tata Resources & Energy Fund: 1,80,900 shares (0.97 per cent), amounting to Rs 6 crore.
