The 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC), which was constituted in November 2025, is mandated to give its recommendations within 18 months by May 2027. However, the recommendations would be effective with retrospective effect from January 1, 2026. In the process of preparing recommendations, the CPC consults with various ministries and government departments and also invites individuals to provide their response. Now, in a notification dated February 25, 2026, the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India has urged stakeholders to participate and send their response.
In a post on social media platform X, the 8th Pay Commission posted the notification issued by the CAG, “The Office of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India has urged wide publicity for the 8thCPC Questionnaire and encouraged employees, pensioners & unions to participate through the official online portal. Your feedback on pay, pension & allowances matters.”
The 8th CPC has created an 18-question questionnaire that is available online on the MyGov official portal. The Commission has invited responses from the ministries, departments, goernment employees, Union Territories (UTs) employees, state government and UTs, Union or association of serving or retired employees, pensioners, regulatory bodies, judicial officers and employees of courts, academicians, researchers, and individuals to send their response to the questions.
This is an anonymous participation where the names of the participants will not be disclosed. The questionnaire is an effort to receive different perspectives and demands directly. The Commission will analyse the responses before preparing its final recommendations to the government.
How To Send A Response?
Log in to the official MyGov website and register with your mobile number or email ID. Once registered, log in again and fill in your personal details, such as name, phone number, email ID, state, district, and so on.
On the same screen, scroll down, and it will show all the 18 questions with a box below them to enter your response in text. One is allowed to write a response in a maximum of 200 words for each question. Note that the responses can be sent only online. Responses through email, PDF files, and paper-based responses will not be entertained.
The questions are detailed and related to pay, dearness allowance, CPC recommendations’ impact on non-government workers, what should be the principle to determine the salary of a Secretary in the Central Government, which is typically the highest end of the scale, how rates and frequency of increments for different pay scales should be determined, and so on.
Anyone can send a response to these questions on the Web portal. This is a chance to participate in the pay commission process, which will have a long-lasting impact on beneficiaries’ financial and other aspects of life. The last date to send the response is March 16, 2026.
