Apple has announced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, adding new camera controls, a more powerful chip and longer battery life to its latest Pro lineup series of iPhones. The company has also introduced new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities with Siri AI as part of iOS 27.
The new Pro models will be available in more than 65 countries and regions in the first wave, including the US, China, Canada, Japan, Australia, the UK, and India. Pre-orders will begin on September 12, with availability starting from September 18. The phones will reach 20 additional countries and regions from September 25.

Apple India lists no-cost equated monthly instalments (EMIs) and instant cashback options for eligible purchases. The Apple Trade In programme also allows customers to get credit towards a new iPhone, depending on the device being traded in and its condition.
According to Apple’s release, the iPhone 18 Pro models come with several hardware and software changes, including a new camera system, the A20 Pro chip, improved battery performance and new Siri AI features.
Both models feature a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, allowing users to choose between four aperture settings. The camera app also gets controls for settings, such as aperture, shutter speed and white balance, along with a histogram for checking exposure.
The phones are powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip, which is built using 2-nanometre process technology. Apple says the chip has 50 per cent more memory bandwidth than the A19 Pro, while its seven-core GPU is up to 40 per cent faster. The phones also use a new vapour chamber aimed at improving sustained performance during demanding tasks.
Battery life is rated at up to 36 hours of video playback on the iPhone 18 Pro and up to 45 hours on the Pro Max. Apple says the Pro models can reach 50 per cent charge in around 15 minutes, while five minutes of wired charging on the Pro Max can provide around seven hours of video playback.
The new models also include Siri AI features with iOS 27. Siri can use personal context, understand information displayed on the screen and help users take actions based on it. The Camera app can also be used with Siri to get information about objects or things in front of the user.
Apple also announced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone. According to Apple, the device will have a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display when folded. In India, pre-orders for the iPhone Duo will begin on October 16 at 5:30 pm IST, with availability starting October 23.
