E-PRAAPTI Portal To Help EPF Subscribers Trace Lost Accounts, Reclaim Funds

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is set to launch an online portal for EPF subscribers to trace their old EPF accounts and reclaim their funds. EPF accounts, if left inoperative, can be reactivated again through this portal. Named E-PRAAPTI, the portal can be used with Aadhaar details, as the old accounts may not have a Universal Account Number (UAN). On finding the old account details, subscribers can activate them and link their accounts with the UAN and update their personal details.

What Is E-PRAAPTI Portal?

Employee Provident Fund Aadhaar-Based Access Portal (E-PRAAPTI) is the Web portal for tracking inoperative EPF accounts. Labour & Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced on April 29, 2026, that the portal will be launched soon to enable subscribers to reclaim their old EPF account, if any, and get the funds transferred. 

The minister also informed that initially subscribers can log in with their member-ID, but later, the portal is planned to be opened for even those subscribers who don’t have their member-ID or cannot access it.

How Would This Help?

At present, the members who have linked their old EPF account with the UAN can view it online or on the UMANG portal, but the account which are not linked with the UAN are difficult to trace and track. With this proposed portal, subscribers would be able to trace their old and inactive accounts faster with less documentation and manual intervention and link them with the UAN.

Claim Settlement Over One Year

According to the minister, the provident fund regulatory body has settled around 83 million claims in 2025-26, a growth of 12.90 million compared to 60.10 million claims settlement in FY25. Of this, around 55.10 million were the partial withdrawal claims. 

The auto settlement process has eased the withdrawals, as around 71 per cent of the advance claims were settled through the auto mode, which takes around three days. In comparison, around 59 per cent of claims were settled through auto mode in 2024-25.

Around 2.50 million transfer requests have been initiated by the members without employers’ approval, and the 7.05 million transfer claims have been processed automatically without intervention by employee or employer. The updated system and streamlined processes have helped the subscribers in taking advances easily or correcting their details in the profile.

With the proposed new portal, the processes are further planned to be streamlined, enabling subscriber to withdraw or transfer their funds to their current PF account.
