Jeevan Pramaan Certificate: How To Submit It Via Different Modes

Central and state government pensioners must submit their life certificates or Jeevan Pramaan annually to show they are alive and continue receiving pensions. They can submit the certificate digitally and physically. For the convenience of senior citizens, the government allows online submission of the certificate. However, one can obtain the certificate easily via any of the modes. 

Here are the two modes of submitting the life certificate. 

Digital Submission: 

• Face, fingerprint, and iris biometric authentication by pensioners through the Jeevan Pramaan and Aadhaar Face RD apps. 

• Indian Post Payment Bank Gramin Dak Sewaks and Postmen can facilitate submission when booked through the Postinfo App for Rs 70. 

• The doorstep banking services facility can be availed by downloading the ‘Doorstep Banking’ app or dialling the toll-free numbers at an additional Rs 75. 

• Pensioners can also check their nearest Common Service Centres (CSCs) by visiting the Jeevan Pramaan portal, or by sending an SMS with the letters ‘JPL’ followed by pin code, to 7738299899. 

In-Person Submission  

• The certificate is directly submitted to banks, post offices, or other designated places. 

• Super-senior pensioners aged 80 and above can submit it in October or November annually. The certificate stays valid for a year or until November 30 the following year. 

• Pension will lapse after December if the life certificate is not received in November. The arrears will be released in the next cycle, provided the pensioner submits the life certificate. If the life certificate is not submitted for three or more years, it may require the sanction of the competent authority for pension reinstatement.
