Ministry of Finance has released information regarding the achievement achieved under the Nationwide Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign. The campaign was started from 1 July 2025 and will go on till 30 September 2025. It was initiated by the Department of Financial Services to make every eligible individual in the nation part of banking and financial programs.

The campaign is carried out in every district of India, both rural and urban. Camps have been established to enable the citizens to open new accounts, enrol for social security schemes, provide updated bank details, and make them aware of financial security.

As of 15 September, 2,30,895 camps were organised. These camps aim to take services to people at one location, saving time and facilitating easy access to government-sponsored financial benefits for households.

Growth in Enrolments

The biggest highlight of the campaign has been the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, which plans to provide people with access to basic banking accounts. 61.69 lakh new accounts were opened during the first two and a half months of the campaign.

Social security registrations have also increased rapidly. Official statistics indicate that 72.56 lakh individuals got registered under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, which provides cover for life insurance. Another 1.56 crore individuals got registered under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, which provides accident cover. The Atal Pension Yojana, targeting old-age financial assistance, enrolled 31.32 lakh fresh members. All three of these schemes together added more than 2.6 crore new registrations.

Verification and Updates of Existing Accounts

In addition to new accounts, the campaign has also updated existing ones. More than 2.32 crore bank accounts were re-verified against Know Your Customer details. Apart from this, 56.86 lakh accounts also had their nomination particulars revised. Adding nominees allow families to receive money instantly at the time of need, and revising these particulars reduces the likelihood of delay or conflict.

At the same time, 44,455 claims under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana were paid as well during this period. These disbursements reflect that already enrolled beneficiaries continued receiving services as fresh enrolments were conducted.

Awareness Sessions Held

The campaign has also given importance to awareness. A large number of the camps had sessions to make people aware of financial matters of significance.

These include digital fraud prevention information, mechanisms for recovering uncollected deposits, and grievance redressal systems in case of issues related to accounts.

The objective of those sessions was to ensure that individuals not only enrolled into financial schemes, but also learned how to continue using them safely. Fraud awareness and formal complaint mechanisms are viewed as a key element of sustainable financial inclusion.

Coverage Across Villages and Towns

As per the Department of Financial Services, the campaign is being conducted across all 2.70 lakh Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies. Camps are used as the primary platform for account opening, scheme enrolment, re-verification, and awareness activities.

The one-stop arrangement of these camps has enabled individuals to perform multiple tasks within one visit. This has reduced the necessity of visiting various bank branches and has facilitated the process for urban and rural dwellers.

Progress Reported so Far

The data published by the Ministry of Finance are as of 15 September 2025. It consists of new Jan Dhan account numbers, new enrolments in three social security schemes, re-verification and nomination change for the existing accounts, claims paid, and awareness programmes carried out.

The campaign will go on till the end of September. Subsequently, a comprehensive report of the overall outcome is likely to be placed.
