Bitcoin continued to trade below the $64,000 mark on August 13, 2026, with the cryptocurrency seeing limited movement over the past 24 hours. The latest price action comes as investors continue to track the broader cryptocurrency market and assess what the current levels could mean for Bitcoin.
Bitcoin was trading at $63,693.80, up 0.18 per cent over the past 24 hours, but down 1.62 per cent over the last week, according to Coinmarketcap data. The cryptocurrency continues to trade below the $64,000 level, with its latest movement indicating limited change.
Why Bitcoin is Trading Below $64,000
Bitcoin’s latest price movement comes as the cryptocurrency remains under pressure after its recent recovery. Vikas Gupta, country manager, India, Bybit, said macroeconomic factors remain the biggest near-term driver for Bitcoin, with inflation still above the Federal Reserve’s 2 per cent target, and institutional flows remaining inconsistent. He added that Bitcoin is also lagging traditional risk assets.
Minal Thukral, executive vice president – growth and crypto business head at CoinDCX, said, “Profit booking following Bitcoin’s recent recovery and continued miner selling estimated at nearly $1.78 billion worth of Bitcoin so far this year have also contributed to the subdued price action.”
What is the Outlook for Bitcoin
As Bitcoin remains in a cautious consolidation phase, experts have highlighted the key price levels in the near term.
Balaji Srihari, vice president – business, India, CoinSwitch, said Bitcoin remains in cautious consolidation. He said, “Immediate support sits at $63,400-63,600, with a break below that area opening the $62,000-63,000 zone.”
He added that the $65,000-65,500 range remains the first key hurdle on the upside, with a sustained move above this zone needed to improve the current market structure.
Gupta said, “It looks more like a correction than a structural breakdown. Bitcoin has been trading in a relatively compressed range of $62,000-$66,000, rather than experiencing a disorderly sell-off.”
How Other Cryptocurrencies are Performing
Other major cryptocurrencies have also showed mixed movements. Ethereum gained 0.38 per cent in the last 24 hours, but declined 0.67 per cent over the week. BNB rose 0.30 per cent in 24 hours and gained 3.09 per cent over the week. XRP fell 0.60 per cent in the last 24 hours and declined 3.37 per cent over the week, while Solana gained 0.46 per cent in 24 hours and rose 3.44 per cent over the week.
What Should Investors Keep in Mind
Thukral said investors should focus on institutional flows, on-chain activity, and market sentiment rather than daily price movements. She added that long-term investors should focus on disciplined investing through market cycles rather than try to time the market.
