The Sensex closed 465.75 points, or 0.55 per cent, down at 83,938.71, while the Nifty 50 slipped 155.75 points, or 0.60 per cent, to 25,722.10.

India’s Export To US Falls
India’s exports to the US dropped 37.5 per cent between May and September 2025 after Washington’s higher tariffs hit several key sectors, according to trade think tank GTRI. Exports fell from $8.8 billion in May, when the tariffs first took effect, to $5.5 billion in September, one of the sharpest short-term declines in recent years.
Car Sales Hit Record High
India’s passenger vehicle market hit a new milestone in October 2025 as festive demand and GST rate rationalisation gave a major boost to sales. Automakers collectively reported record monthly wholesales of 4,70,227 units, up 17.23 per cent from 4,01,105 units a year earlier. The figure also broke the previous high of 4,05,522 units recorded in January 2025.
Q2 Results Today
Several major companies are scheduled to announce their July–September quarter (Q2 FY26) results today. The list includes Bharti Airtel, Titan Company, Tata Consumer Products, Power Grid Corporation, ACME Solar Holdings, Ajanta Pharma, Ambuja Cements, Bharti Hexacom, City Union Bank, Gland Pharma, JK Paper, Hitachi Energy India, Timken India, and Wockhardt.
Crude Oil Price Today
Crude oil prices edged higher in early Asian trade on Monday after OPEC+ chose to delay production hikes planned for the first quarter of next year, easing concerns about a potential supply glut. Brent crude gained 0.73 per cent to $65.24 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) rose 0.74 per cent to $61.43.
US Stock Market
On October 31, Wall Street’s main indices ended higher, extending its recent rally.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.09 per cent, while the S&P 500 rose 0.26 per cent. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.61 per cent on the back of strong tech earnings.
Asian Stock Market Today
Asian shares traded higher in early trade today as investors assessed last week’s megacap earnings highlighting heavy spending on artificial intelligence, while the dollar hovered near a three-month high following hawkish remarks from Federal Reserve officials. The Hang Seng index rose 0.6 0 per cent, South Korea’s Kospi gained 2.40 per cent, and China’s SSE Composite traded flat. Markets in Japan were closed for a holiday.
