Juniper Green Energy made its stock market debut broadly in line with grey market expectations on August 6, listing at a premium over its issue price. The renewable energy company's shares opened at Rs 245 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), an 8.89 per cent premium to the issue price of Rs 225, while on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the stock listed at Rs 242, up 7.56 per cent.

Ahead of listing, the the company's shares commanded a grey market premium (GMP) of around Rs 23, indicating an expected listing price of about Rs 248 per share, or a gain of a little over 10 per cent over the issue price.

The shares listed under the symbol 'JNPR' on the NSE and scrip code 544853 on the BSE.

The company's market capitalisation rose from its pre-issue valuation of Rs 11,002.26 crore to Rs 13,940.46 crore at the NSE listing price, adding nearly Rs 2,938 crore in value on its market debut.

How Much Did Retail Investors Gain

Retail investors who were allotted one lot of 66 shares made a listing gain of Rs 1,320, or Rs 20 per share, at the NSE listing price of Rs 245, excluding brokerage and taxes.

Juniper Green Energy IPO Details

Juniper Green Energy's Rs 1,800 crore initial public offering (IPO) was entirely a fresh issue of 80 million shares. The public issue was open for subscription between July 30 and August 3. Ahead of the IPO launch, the firm raised Rs 539.40 crore from anchor investors on July 29.

The company had fixed the issue price at Rs 225 per share, the upper end of the price band of Rs 214-225. Shares were offered in lots of 66 shares, requiring a minimum investment of Rs 14,850 for retail investors. Employees received a discount of Rs 21 per share.

The IPO was managed by ICICI Securities, HSBC Securities and Capital Markets, JM Financial and Kotak Mahindra Capital as the book-running lead managers, while Kfin Technologies acted as the registrar.

Juniper Green Energy IPO Subscription Details

The issue received an overall subscription of 8.38 times. Qualified institutional buyers, excluding anchors, subscribed their portion 26.22 times, the non-institutional investor segment was subscribed 1.92 times, while the retail investors' quota remained marginally undersubscribed at 0.98 times. The employee reservation was subscribed 3.79 times.

Juniper Green Energy IPO Objectives

Juniper Green Energy will use the IPO proceeds primarily to cut debt. The company has allocated Rs 683.24 crore to repay or prepay a part of its outstanding borrowings, while it will invest Rs 728.69 crore in six material subsidiaries, including Juniper Green Gamma One, Juniper Green Three, Juniper Green Field, Juniper Green Beam, Juniper Green Kite and Juniper Green Ray Two, to help them repay or prepay their loans. Together, these debt repayments account for over three-fourths of the Rs 1,800 crore issue size. The company will use the remaining proceeds for general corporate purposes and to meet issue-related expenses.

Juniper Green Energy Financial Performance

Juniper Green Energy reported strong top-line growth in FY26, driven by higher revenue from its renewable energy portfolio. Total income rose 41.3 per cent year-on-year to Rs 804.93 crore from Rs 569.78 crore in FY25. Net profit increased 10.9 per cent to Rs 40.46 crore from Rs 36.48 crore a year earlier, while earnings before interests, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (Ebitda) climbed 42.5 per cent to Rs 692.18 crore from Rs 485.69 crore.

At the same time, the company's total assets nearly doubled to Rs 19,538.45 crore from Rs 10,356.81 crore. However, total debt also jumped to Rs 12,920.54 crore at the end of FY26 from Rs 5,502.53 crore a year earlier.
