World Liberty Financial has announced a buyback programme for its WLFI governance token, with the initial funding potentially including fees earned from reserves backing its USD1 stablecoin. The company said the initiative would support its governance ecosystem and encourage long-term participation among token holders.
In a post on X, World Liberty Financial said the programme would begin with an initial allocation, which could include fees earned from USD1 reserves and other sources. The company said it would evaluate the programme over time and intended to make buybacks an ongoing part of its long-term strategy.
“The goal is to encourage active participation in WLFI governance and consolidate voting power among our most committed long-term holders,” the company said in the post.
It added that the pace and scale of future purchases would be guided by ecosystem growth and their impact on governance participation. “We’re building for the long term, alongside the holders who share that vision,” it said.
