A new U.S. immigration pathway was introduced under President Donald Trump's administration, known as the Trump Gold Card. This is a new process that allows wealthy foreign individuals to obtain permanent residency in the United States. The government presents it as a fast-track way for affluent individuals and businesses to get into the American market to contribute financially to mutual growth.

Legally, the Gold Card functions as a premium investment option for a guaranteed visa to the USA. If you pay the steep amount of the application fees and pass the security and background checks, you can get lawful permanent resident status.

As per the Trumpcard.gov, the official communication and application site for the Trump Gold Card, this is a visa based upon an individual's ability to provide a substantial benefit to the United States. After paying the fees of USD 15,000, approvals of background checks, and a contribution of USD 1 million, people can receive U.S. residency in record time.

As of now, there are 2 provisions: individual and business, both offering the same outcome but with different fee structures.

For individuals, there are the Trump Gold Card and the Trump Platinum Card. The Trump Gold Card is currently open for all eligible individuals. A non-refundable processing fee of USD 15,000, a contribution of USD 1 million and a mandatory background approval.

The Trump Platinum Card is coming soon, as per the official site. Foreign nationals can sign up for this now and secure their places on the waiting list for the platinum card. When launched, a USD 15,000 processing fee and USD 5 million as a contribution, the participants will be able to spend up to 270 days in the United States without being subject to U.S. taxation. For the platinum card, people who are U.S. citizens or resident aliens are not eligible.

For businesses, there's only a provision of the Trump Corporate Gold Card, where companies looking to expand to the U.S. make a contribution of USD 2 million, a USD 15,000 non-refundable processing fee and background approval of you and the candidate employees of the company. For candidate employees, the title is transferable with a 5 per cent transfer fee.

Benefits of the Trump Gold Card

The primary benefits of the Gold Card give its holders a lawful permanent residency in the U.S. Approved applicants can bypass much of the green card backlogs and processing, which is usually lengthy. The holders of the card can also add their spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21 to the application, allowing all the family members to relocate. Unlike other visa programs (EB-5), the gold card primarily relies on the contribution itself as evidence of benefit.

The Trump Gold Card requires a large up-front fee, but the payoff is a fast track to U.S. life and work, with family inclusion and nominal terms and conditions.
