Pune MHADA lottery postponed again amid technical issues.
Over 2.15 lakh applicants face extended uncertainty.
No new draw date announced yet.
The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has again postponed the lottery draw for 4,186 affordable homes under the Pune Board scheme. This delay has extended uncertainty for more than 2.15 lakh applicants. As per Pune Mirror, MHADA chairman Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil had confirmed that this draw would’ve been conducted on December 16-17, 2025. Now, the MHADA officials have confirmed that this draw is likely to be delayed due to unresolved technical challenges and delays. There is no new date announced yet.
This initiative was launched in September 2025. The primary goal was to design a structure that provides affordable living options across Pune and the other surrounding regions. The launch of this scheme had generated an overwhelming response, with more than 2.15 lakh applications submitted for 4,186 units of housing. So far, the deposits through the scheme stand at Rs 447 crore.
The repeated postponement highlights the complexity of the task faced by the authority. Originally, the draw was scheduled for November 21, but then it was pushed to December 11, 2025, after facing technical issues. This was followed by the MHADA chairman Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil confirming that the new dates for the lottery draw are most likely December 16-17, 2025. Which is now again postponed to an undisclosed date.
This repeated delay has frustrated the applicants who hoped to secure a home. Part of the reason for these delays is due to intense applicant competition. Also, due to long wait times during the verification of these 2.15 lakh applicants. Affordable housing remains a pressing subject in Urban sectors like Pune, where prices of housing properties often make ownership a far-fetched dream for many. This housing scheme is seen as a rare opportunity for low and middle-income buyers to fulfil this dream.
All this delay is a result of making an honest attempt at making this lottery draw fair and square. Before the draw can actually be held, a list of eligible applicants will be released to make sure the draw itself does not take too much time. These procedures are aimed at ensuring transparency and fairness.
MHADA has assured the applicants that the process will continue once all checks and verifications are done. Applicants have been advised to keep a check on the official MHADA websites for updates and timelines.
