  • Danube hints at SRK office in Shahrukhz 2.0.

  • Tower sold out pre-launch for Rs 5,000 crore.

Shahrukhz by Danube, a commercial tower launched earlier this week in Dubai, was sold out completely before the launch for Rs 5,000 crore. However, it doesn’t have an office space for Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s enterprise, Red Chillies Entertainment. “Mere naam ke tower mein mera hi office nahi hai (a tower by my name doesn’t have space for my office),” Shah Rukh Khan said in jest, at the launch of the tower at Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City, in Dubai.

Playing along, Rizwan Sajan, founder and chairman of Danube Group, teased the crowd with SRK’s classic line: “Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost (the show is not yet over).” He indicated that Shah Rukh Khan and even Farah Khan, who was also present at the event, will have offices in another tower by the same name, Shahrukhz by Danube 2.0. This gave rise to speculation that Danube Properties may launch another such tower soon, but there was no confirmation.

They were interacting at a mega event at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City, in Dubai, at the launch of the tower earlier this week. Speaking at the event, Sajan announced that all the units in the tower had been completely sold out for a huge Rs 5,000 crore. The units are set to be completed by 2029. Sajan highlighted that the property was named after the star to honour him as well as because of the similarities in the life journeys of SRK and Sajan. Both have carved their own paths to success in their respective fields. Sajan famously started from the slums of Ghatkopar in Mumbai and gradually rose to launching a successful real estate company in Dubai.

When asked about the total project cost, Sajan, on Monday, was quoted by PTI as saying that it would be around Rs 3,500 crore, including land and construction, among other expenses. He said the investment would be met through internal accruals and advances from customers against sales.
