Ronnie Screwvala the chairperson and co-founder of upGrad Entrepreneur, and investor and philanthropist spoke on the 3rd edition of the 40After40 Retirement Expo and addressed many issues regarding leadership and the role of technology for leaders and in the job market.
Screwvala highlighted the need for today’s leader to be like a drone and practice the 360-degree approach, working on both the bigger picture and closely zooming in from time to time. He stressed on requirement of CEOs and today’s leaders to be hovering over everybody else to zoom in and see that the work is being smoothly done.
He emphasized that the leaders of this new generation are more problem spotters than problem solvers as problems occur more frequently and need to be addressed quickly. He told the leaders much match this generation’s mindset of being problem spotter rather than problem solvers.
Screwvala also advised the leaders to embrace technology and make it a catalyst of success rather than opposing it. Acceptance of AI is more required now than ever and it can cut down an average worker’s 14 hours a day to 11 hours leading to enhanced work efficiency.
He spoke about what leaders must do in this changing economy and how to adapt to it at the expo. Watch the video to know more.
