J&K Bank and RBL Bank have revised their fixed deposit (FD) rates during the week ended September 12, 2026. The maximum deposit rate available to senior citizens (60 years and above) in these two banks are 7.55 per cent and 7.70 per cent, respectively.

Super senior citizens (80 years and above) can avail of even higher rates. As banks typically offer an additional deposit over the card rates, here are the revised FD rate details for senior citizens.

J&K Bank

J&K Bank revised FD rates on September 11, 2026, reducing the rates on most tenures. Senior citizens can avail of a maximum of 7.55 per cent, including an additional 0.50 per cent (50 basis points, ‘bps’), and super senior citizens can receive up to an additional 0.25 per cent (25 bps) over the senior citizens’ FD rates, which means they can avail of up to 7.80 per cent.

Here are the details of the FD rates.

For Senior Citizens:

  • 7.05 per cent for one year to less than 18 months

  • 7.15 per cent for 18 months to less than two years

  • 7.25 per cent for two years to 887 days

  • 7.55 per cent for 888 days

  • 7.25 per cent for 889 days to less than three years

  • 7.20 per cent for three years to less than five years

  • 7.25 per cent for five years to 10 years

For Super Senior Citizens:

  • 7.30 per cent for one year to less than 18 months

  • 7.40 per cent for 18 months to less than two years

  • 7.50 per cent for two years to 887 days

  • 7.80 per cent for 888 days

  • 7.50 per cent for 889 days to less than three years

  • 7.45 per cent for three years to less than five years

  • 7.50 per cent for five years to 10 years

RBL Bank

This private sector bank revised FD rates on September 9, 2026. The bank offers senior citizens the highest deposit rate of 7.70 per cent, including an additional 0.50 per cent, and super senior citizens up to 7.95 per cent, including an additional 0.25 per cent over senior citizens’ FD rates. Here are the FD rate details.

For Senior Citizens:  

  • 7.50 per cent for 365-500 days

  • 7.50 per cent for 501 days to less than 18 months

  • 7.70 per cent for 18-36 months

  • 7.50 per cent for 36 months and one day to less than 60 months

  • 7.20 per cent for 60-120 months

For Super Senior Citizens:  

  • 7.75 per cent for 365-500 days

  • 7.75 per cent for 501 days to less than 18 months

  • 7.95 per cent for 18-36 months

  • 7.75 per cent for 36 months one day to less than 60 months

  • 7.45 per cent for 60-120 months

These deposit rates are for callable FDs worth less than Rs 3 crore.
