Three banks have revised their fixed deposit (FD) rates ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) monetary policy committee (MPC) meeting scheduled from October 5-7, 2026. Experts expect a 25 basis point (bps) or a 0.25 per cent hike in rates this time due to rising crude oil prices and inflation. If the rate is hiked, this will be the first increase since 2023. It would lead to an increase in deposit rates, too.
The RBI will announce the final rate on the last day of the MPC meeting on October 7.
The three banks that revised FD rates during the week ending October 3, 2026, include RBL Bank, Federal Bank, and Jana Small Finance Bank (SFB).
