Five banks revised their fixed deposit (FD) rates during the week ended August 8, 2026, offering up to 8.30 per cent to senior citizens (60 years and above). While the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) kept the repo rate unchanged for the fourth time, these banks, including Union Bank of India (UBI), Indian Bank, CSB Bank, DCB Bank, and Jana Small Finance Bank (SFB), revised their rates. 

Here are the revised deposit rates for senior citizens.

Union Bank Of India

This public sector bank revised its FD rates, effective from August 4, 2026. The bank offers an additional 50 basis points (bps) to senior citizens over the card rates available to the general public. It offers seniors the highest rate of 7.05 per cent, which is 0.05 percentage points (5 bps) lower than the previous highest rate. Here are the rates for senior citizens across different tenures.

  • 6.70 per cent for more than one year to 399 days

  • 6.75 per cent for 400 days

  • 6.75 per cent for 401-443 days

  • 7.00 per cent for 444 days

  • 6.65 per cent for 445-554 days

  • 7.05 per cent for 555 days

  • 6.65 per cent for 556-996 days

  • 6.60 per cent for 997 days

  • 6.60 per cent for 998 days to three years

  • 6.50 per cent from more than three years to 10 years

The interest rates for super seniors are 25 bps over these rates.

Indian Bank

Indian Bank revised its FD rates on August 4, 2026. Senior citizens can avail themselves of a maximum of 7.15 per cent on its IND Grow FD for 555 days. Here are the details on FD rates for seniors:

  • 6.60 per cent for one year

  • 6.70 per cent for above one year to less than two years (except 500 and 555 days)

  • 6.90 per cent for 500 days (Ind Green FD)

  • 7.15 per cent for 555 days (Ind Grow FD)

  • 6.65 per cent for two years to less than three years

  • 7.10 per cent for 777 days (Ind Prosper)

  • 6.55 per cent for three years to less than five years

  • 6.50 per cent for five years

  • 6.75 per cent for the above five years to 10 years (including an extra 25 bps only for FDs above five years)

CSB Bank

CSB Bank revised its FD rates on August 5, 2026, and is offering a maximum of 7.35 per cent to senior citizens. They can now receive:

  • 5.25 per cent for 12 months to less than 13 months

  • 7.25 per cent for 13 months

  • 5.75 per cent for above 13 months to less than 18 months

  • 7.35 per cent for 18 months

  • 5.75 per cent for 18-24 months

  • 6.00 per cent for above 24 months to 24 months 14 days

  • 6.75 per cent for above 24 months 14 days to 25 months

  • 6.00 per cent for above 25 months to 120 months

DCB Bank

DCB Bank increased the highest rate by up to 15 bps from its previous rates. Effective August 4, 2026, senior citizens can receive up to 8 per cent and those aged 70 years and above can avail of up to 8.05 per cent. Here are the revised interest rate details for seniors:

  • 7.15 per cent for 12 months to less than 15 months

  • 7.60 per cent for 15 months to less than 16 months

  • 7.15 per cent for 16 months to less than 24 months

  • 8 per cent for 24 months to less than 25 months (8.05 per cent for seniors aged 70 and above)

  • 7.15 per cent for 25 months to less than 27 months

  • 7.25 per cent for 27 months to less than 34 months

  • 8 per cent for 34 months to less than 35 months (8.05 per cent for seniors aged 70 and above)

  • 7.25 per cent for 35 months to less than 37 months

  • 7.60 per cent for 37 months to 38 months (7.65 per cent for seniors aged 70 and above)

  • 7.25 per cent for more than 38 months to less than 60 months

  • 8 per cent for more than 60 months to 61 months (8.05 per cent for seniors aged 70 and above)

  • 7.25 per cent for more than 61 months to 120 months

Jana Small Finance Bank (SFB)

Jana SFB revised its rates on August 6, 2026. It offers senior citizens a maximum of 8.30 per cent. Here are Jana SFB’s FD rates for seniors:

  • 7.50 per cent for 271-366 days

  • 7.80 per cent for 367 days to two years

  • 8.30 per cent for above two years to three years (1,095 days)

  • 8 per cent for above three years to five years (1,825 days)

  • 7 per cent for above five years to 10 years.
