Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Odisha, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on January 14 for Makar Sankranti and Magh Bihu, marking the harvest season in different parts of the country.
States Where Banks are Closed on January 15
On January 15, banks will be closed in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as well as major cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. The closures are for Uttarayana Punyakala, Pongal, Maghe Sankranti and Makara Sankranti, along with municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra.
While physical branches in these states will remain closed on these dates, digital banking services such as Unified Payments Interface (UPI), net banking and ATM withdrawals will continue to be available.
