Summary of this article

  • Michael Saylor expects Bitcoin to rebound above $100,000 after recovering from below $60,000.

  • Bitcoin trades near $81,478, remaining below its October 2025 record of $126,251.

  • Strategy expects increased Bitcoin purchases, forecasting annual growth of 20-30 per cent.

Bitcoin could climb back above $100,000, according to Strategy Inc. co-founder and executive chairman Michael Saylor, who believes the cryptocurrency market is recovering from its recent downturn.

At the time of writing on Saturday, Bitcoin was trading at $81,478.48, up 0.17 per cent. Saylor expects the cryptocurrency to move back into six-figure territory after falling below $60,000 earlier in the year.

“It should definitely move back into the six figures beyond $100,000,” Saylor said in an interview with Bloomberg Television on Tuesday. He added that Bitcoin had likely bottomed out slightly below $60,000 and had since recovered into the $80,000 range.

Bitcoin Price Remains Below Record High

Bitcoin has been trading around the $80,000 level since the middle of August, according to Bloomberg. However, the cryptocurrency remains well below its all-time high of $126,251, recorded in October 2025.

The digital asset has struggled to regain positive momentum following a sharp market sell-off in October last year. Around $19 billion worth of cryptocurrency positions were liquidated over a 24-hour period just days after Bitcoin reached its record high.

Strategy’s stock has also mirrored Bitcoin’s decline and partial recovery. The company, formerly known as MicroStrategy, has built its business strategy around accumulating Bitcoin and remains one of the largest corporate holders of the cryptocurrency.

Strategy Plans To Increase Bitcoin Purchases

Strategy has periodically paused its Bitcoin purchases and sold some of its holdings in recent months. More recently, the company has been buying smaller amounts of Bitcoin compared with its purchases during previous bull markets.

Saylor expects the company to increase its acquisitions as market conditions improve. He also indicated that Strategy could issue more securities to finance future Bitcoin purchases.

“We are moving into a bull market, so I would expect we are probably acquiring Bitcoin, and we will be issuing credit into the bull market,” Saylor said

He also outlined the company’s long-term outlook for the cryptocurrency, saying: “Our long-term forecast is Bitcoin grows 20 per cent to 30 per cent a year over the next few years.”

To manage the impact of the market downturn, Strategy has introduced a capital framework that allows it to sell Bitcoin and common stock to increase its cash reserves. The company can use the funds to buy back interest-bearing preferred stock, with the aim of strengthening liquidity and reducing leverage. The framework comes as Strategy navigates a period of weaker Bitcoin prices and changes in its financing approach.
