The Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) Karamjeevi Awaas Yojana 2026 has received a strong response from homebuyers on the first day of bookings. More than half of the flats on offer were booked within hours. Of the 1,218 ready-to-move-in residential units under the scheme, 661 were booked on the day of opening.
What Is The KarmaJeevi Awaas Yojana?
The Karmajeevi Awaas Yojana 2026 on July 22, 2026. Under this scheme, DDA is offering 1,224 ready-to-move-in flats in the Narela region at a 25 per cent discount. This scheme is targeted at serving and retired government employees, as well as professionals from corporate, business, and other sectors. As per the official DDA notice, the flats are located in Pocket 11 of Sectors A1 to A4 in Narela.
DDA had adopted the first-come, first-served (FCFS) basis for allotment of these units. Registrations for the scheme began on July 24, 2026, while the booking for this scheme had started on August 15, 2026, at noon sharp. The deadline for the scheme application will remain open until October 30, 2026, or until the inventory is exhausted.
What did this robust reaction mean?
As per a report by the Hindustan Times, the 1BHK category had emerged as the most popular among the buyers, with all available units sold out on the first day. 661 units were booked out of the total listed; 383 of these were of the 1-BHK nature, while 198 were of 2-BHK configurations and 80 were 3-BHK apartments.
The 1-BHK flats measured around 655-660 square feet; this segment was priced from Rs 33.40 lakh after the applicable discount.
Why Is There This Demand?
Narela’s improving connectivity and planned infrastructure could be among the factors that support this demand for the project. The housing complex is in the vicinity of an upcoming metro station at a distance of 1.2 km. While at a distance of 1.9 km is the proposed RRTS station. It is also close to the GT Karnal Road.
The flats offered are on a freehold basis, while the scheme does not restrict applicants who already own property. Buyers are also allowed to coalesce two adjoining flats into a larger unit; however, this is subject to DDA rules and approvals.
Through the Karmajeevi Awaas Yojana 2026, the DDA is promoting homeownership for working professionals and government employees. The 25 per cent discount clause promotes this scheme as financially beneficial for many.
