The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has approved the construction of 1,392 affordable flats in the city under a project called Aditi Apartments, to be built in Anant Nagar. This marks a significant step towards expanding the inventory of affordable housing projects in Lucknow. The announcement of this scheme by the authority is significant as there is a growing shortage of affordable housing in the real estate market, according to real estate data from tier-I, tier-II and tier-III cities.
The project, which has been cleared by the LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar, will cater to homebuyers from various income groups. The residential complex will be developed on an 18,411 square metre housing plot located in Adarsh Khand of the Anant Nagar township. It will comprise a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments designed to meet the housing needs of families who are looking for a budget-friendly housing aided with modern amenities.
The approved plan includes 412 one-bedroom flats and 980 two-bedroom flats (2BHK). The one-bedroom configuration is sized at 38.25 square metres, and the two-bedroom configurations offered are 50.10 square metres. The housing plan is divided among five residential towers. The project has also made provisions for parking with a parking facility of 545 cars divided between basement and stilt parking lots, according to a report in ET Realty.
LDA officials have said that apartments are expected to be equipped with several modern facilities aimed at improving the quality of life. This township is planned as a large-scale residential development with housing options across multiple income categories. The approval of the same highlights the LDA body’s continued efforts towards introducing fresh inventory of affordable housing, while catering to the low-income and middle-income groups.
With the approval in place, the project moves closer to the implementation stage and is expected to strengthen the supply of affordable homes in Lucknow. Further details related to the project are yet to be announced.
