The registration of properties in the Mumbai municipal region rose 9 per cent to 14,228 units during April, a 14-year high for the month, according to Knight Frank.
As many as 13,080 properties were registered in April 2025 and 15,983 units in March 2026.
In a statement on Thursday, real estate consultant Knight Frank India said the registration of properties in Mumbai city (area under BMC jurisdiction) stood at a record 14,228 units till 8.15 pm of April, as per the data compiled from the Maharashtra Department of Registrations and Stamps.
The data relates to transactions from both the primary and secondary real estate markets.
"Property registrations in April 2026 mark the highest volume for the month of April in the past 14 years, surpassing the previous peak recorded in April 2025, highlighting the resilience of Mumbai's residential market," it added.
Shishir Baijal, International Partner, Chairman & Managing Director, Knight Frank India, said, "Mumbai's residential market continues to demonstrate resilient momentum, with April 2026 registering the strongest performance for any April in over a decade".
This sustained growth in registrations underscores enduring end-user confidence, even on a high base, he added.
