Technocraft Ventures IPO Listing: The infrastructure company’s shares listed well above the issue price, beating grey market expectations

Technocraft Ventures shares made a strong debut on the stock exchanges on August 14, listing at Rs 285 apiece on the BSE, a premium of Rs 73 or 34.43 per cent over the issue price of Rs 212. On the NSE, the stock debuted at Rs 284, up Rs 72 or 33.96 per cent from the issue price.

The listing was significantly higher than grey market expectations. Technocraft Ventures’ latest GMP stood at Rs 42 ahead of listing, indicating an estimated listing price of Rs 254 at the upper end of the price band.

The Rs 251.88 crore Technocraft Ventures IPO was open for subscription from August 7 to August 11. The issue comprised a fresh issue of 95.05 lakh shares worth Rs 201.51 crore and an offer for sale of 23.76 lakh shares aggregating to Rs 50.37 crore.

The company had fixed the IPO price band at Rs 200-212 per share, with a lot size of 70 shares. At the upper end of the price band, retail investors were required to invest a minimum of Rs 14,840.

Khambatta Securities acted as the book running lead manager for the issue, while Bigshare Services was the registrar.

Technocraft Ventures IPO Subscription Details

The public issue was subscribed 38.69 times by the end of bidding on August 11, with investors placing bids for 3,217.82 million shares against 83.17 million shares on offer.

The non-institutional investor (NII) portion was subscribed 65.06 times, the highest among the three main investor categories. Within the NII category, the portion reserved for investors applying for more than Rs 10 lakh was subscribed 63.97 times, while the small NII portion received 67.24 times subscription.

Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) subscribed 42.26 times, while the retail investor portion was subscribed 25.35 times.

The IPO received a total of 13,48,011 applications.

Incorporated in October 1998, Technocraft Ventures is a public infrastructure development company that undertakes turnkey Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects.

The company works across water and wastewater infrastructure, roads and highways, urban infrastructure, power distribution and trenchless and micro-tunnelling projects.

Technocraft Ventures primarily executes projects for state governments and government agencies across northern India, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

The company has undertaken projects under schemes such as AMRUT, JNNURM, UIDSST, Namami Gange, Jal Jeevan Mission and PMGSY. It has also worked on ADB-funded infrastructure projects that require compliance with technical and environmental standards.

The company plans to use Rs 150 crore from the net IPO proceeds to fund its working capital requirements. The remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.
