Stock Market News: The 30-share Sensex and the Nifty 50 index closed flat on April 30, 2025. The 30-share Sensex closed at 80,242.24, down by 46.14 points or 0.06 per cent. The Nifty 50 index also closed flat, down by 1.75 points or 0.01 per cent.
Maruti Suzuki India, HDFC Life Insurance And Bharti Airtel Lead Gainers
Shares of Maruti Suzuki India, HDFC Life Insurance And Bharti Airtel gained the most among constituents of the Nifty 50 index, as they ended higher by up to 4.19 per cent. On the other hand, shares of Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance and Trent declined by as much as 5.61 per cent at the close. Notably, 15 constituents of the benchmark index closed in the green, while 35 constituents ended in the red.

Nifty Realty and Nifty Auto Close Higher
The Nifty Realty and the Nifty Auto closed in the green amid broad-based selling. The two indices closed higher by up to 1.91 per cent. On the other hand, sectoral indices like the Nifty Bank and Nifty IT index closed lower by as much as 0.55 per cent. The Nifty MidCap 100 and the Nifty SmallCap 100 closed lower by as much as 1.73 per cent.
Global Markets
Wall Street indices, such as the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq Composite ended higher by as much as 0.58 per cent. At the time of writing, European indices, such as the FTSE 100, CAC 40 and the DAX Performance index traded in the green up by as much as 0.68 per cent. Asian indices, such as the Hang Seng and the Nikkei 225 traded flat in the green up by as much as 0.57 per cent.

The public issues of Ather Energy IPO and Iware Supply Chain Services IPO closed for subscription. Ather Energy IPO was booked 1.43 times on the final day of bidding. On the other hand, Supply Chain Services IPO was oversubscribed 3.01 times on the last day of the bidding window being open.
Cues to Watch
D-Street will remain closed on May 1, 2025 on account of Maharashtra Day. No trading activity will take place across the equity and derivatives segments. The MCX will remain closed in the morning session. However, normal trading activity will resume in the evening session.
