CNG prices in Delhi-NCR have increased by Rs 3.89 per kg from August 29, which makes the fuel costlier for vehicle owners and commuters. The revised rates apply from Saturday, with consumers now paying more for CNG at filling stations across the region.
Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has attributed the price revision to higher input gas costs, particularly the increase in imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices. According to PTI, the company said a significant portion of the gas used for CNG is sourced through imported LNG, whose spot market prices have risen since the beginning of the West Asia conflict.
IGL said international LNG prices have remained elevated, increasing the cost impact for the company. The Rs 3.89 per kg increase has therefore been introduced to partially offset the rise in input gas costs. The revised CNG prices came into effect from 6 am on August 29. In Delhi, the price of CNG has increased from Rs 83.09 per kg to Rs 86.98 per kg following the latest revision.
The price Increase comes after a period of higher international gas costs, with the company linking the latest revision to developments in the global LNG market. The increase means consumers using CNG-powered cars, taxis, auto-rickshaws and other vehicles in Delhi-NCR will have to pay more for the fuel from August 29.
IGL supplies CNG and PNG in Delhi and parts of the National Capital Region. The latest revision affects CNG prices across the areas covered by the company’s network, while the applicable price can vary depending on the location.
CNG Prices In Delhi-NCR And Other Cities
According to IGL’s latest price list, CNG is priced at Rs 86.98 per kg in Delhi. The rate is Rs 95.59 per kg in Noida and Ghaziabad, Rs 92.01 per kg in Gurugram and Rs 91.32 per kg in Karnal. In Kanpur, CNG costs Rs 98.31 per kg, while Ajmer, Pali and Rajsamand have a rate of Rs 96.33 per kg. The revised prices mean consumers will now pay more for CNG across these locations.
The latest revision comes as CNG remains an important fuel option for private and commercial vehicles in the region. With the price hike, vehicle owners and other CNG users now face higher costs for regular travel and vehicle running expenses.
