Summary of this article

  • The 28th instalment of Ladli Behna Yojana will be released on 13 September 2025, with Rs 1250 transferred to 1.27 crore women beneficiaries in Madhya Pradesh.

  • Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will initiate the transfer from Jhabua. After Diwali, instalments are expected to rise to Rs 1500, further boosting women’s financial independence.

The 28th instalment of Madhya Pradesh’s much-publicised Ladli Behna Yojana is scheduled to arrive on September 13, 2025. On that day, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will sit in Petlawad, Jhabua district, and press the digital button that pushes Rs 1250 directly into the bank accounts of 1.27 crore women.

The Chief Minister has already hinted at that “next.” According to his earlier announcement, this may be the final instalment of Rs 1250. After Diwali, the government intends to increase the amount to Rs 1500 per woman per month. A thousand two hundred fifty may not sound like a large sum to those with stable incomes, but in countless homes across Madhya Pradesh, this money bridges the gap between scarcity and sufficiency. The possibility of a Rs 250 increase has therefore become a talking point in villages, towns, and districts where the scheme is a lifeline, as per a report by India Today.

From Raksha Bandhan to September 13

The timing of instalments has often been tied to significant moments. On August 7, 2025, when the 27th instalment was released, Rs 1,859 crore was distributed to 1.26 crore women. On that occasion, which coincided with Raksha Bandhan, CM Yadav had added an extra Rs 250 as a festive shagun. That gesture was symbolic meant to tie welfare with tradition and the government made sure it was noticed.

Political Weight Behind the Numbers

Any programme that touches 1.27 crore households carries political weight. Every instalment reinforces the government’s image of being committed to women’s empowerment. On September 13, 2025, when Dr. Mohan Yadav presses that button in Petlawad, the action will be over in seconds. But behind those seconds lies an operation that stretches across banking systems, administrative coordination, and political calculation. More importantly, it stretches across 1.27 crore households, each with its own story, each with a woman waiting to see the balance in her account rise by Rs 1250.
