Summary of this article

  • PM-KISAN’s 24th instalment is scheduled for October 30

  • Eligible farmers will receive ₹2,000 through direct benefit transfer

  • Completing e-KYC and verification helps prevent payment delays

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme is one of the government’s income-support schemes made for the welfare of farmers. Under this scheme, farmers who are eligible are qualified to receive Rs 6,000 annually in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000. This scheme uses the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system to make the transfers into the beneficiaries' accounts.

The scheme provides income support to farmer families that meet the eligibility criteria. State governments and Union Territory administrations identify the eligible candidates based on land records and other requirements. However, certain farmers remain excluded from receiving these benefits; these include institutional landholders, current and former holders of constitutional posts, ministers, and serving or retired government employees. Farmers who acquired land ownership after February 01, 2019, and those with many beneficiaries also face verification requirements under the rules set under the scheme.

The government has announced that the 24th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme will be released on October 30, 2026. This announcement came out on October 23, 2026, by the Agriculture Ministry. The eligible farmers can expect their payment by the month’s end of the month, provided that their records and Know Your Customer (KYC) are completed to avoid delays. They should also make sure their verification requirements are completed to avoid payment delays.

The PM-Kisan scheme is for farmers who fulfil the following conditions:

  • Indian citizen

  • Owns cultivable land

  • Should be a marginal farmer

  • Not be someone who receives a pension of at least Rs 10,000 per month

  • Not having filed for income tax.

How To Receive And Check The Status?

In order to benefit from this scheme, one must register on the official PM Kisan portal. Without the fulfilment of the KYC, one wouldn't receive the payment.

  • Visit the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi website and navigate to the KYC section.

  • Enter your Aadhaar number and registered mobile number. An OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked with the Aadhaar.

  • Submit after verification with OTP.

It is advised that farmers rely on government announcements rather than just unverified messages about the payment date. Completing all mandatory verification steps can help eligible beneficiaries receive their instalments on time.
