Insurance is generally associated with financial protection in the event of an accident, illness or other unexpected event. Private sector insurer, ACKO, has now announced three new offerings across motor, health, and travel insurance. The three products, namely, ACKO DriveCam, ACKO Clinic, and ACKO AirPass cover areas ranging from accident evidence and healthcare services to flight delays and rebooking support.

What The Three Products Offer

ACKO DriveCam is the insurer’s own dashcam, bundled with select ACKO car insurance policies. According to ACKO, it records footage from the time the car starts and is intended to help customers in situations, such as disputed accidents, road-rage incidents, and traffic challans. The company said the footage remains on the device and the customer’s phone and is not uploaded to ACKO’s servers. ACKO said it cannot access the footage unless the customer chooses to share it.

ACKO Clinic is a members-only healthcare service for families, which is set to open in Bengaluru. According to a press release by the company, the offering will bring together top doctors, health check-ups, diagnostics and a dedicated care team to policyholders. The service is intended to help members understand their health and identify potential risks early.

The third offering, ACKO AirPass, is an annual travel subscription for domestic flyers. According to the company release, it tracks eligible flights in real time and provides a cash payout of Rs 1,500 when an eligible flight is delayed by more than 90 minutes.

It also offers a rebooking discount of up to Rs 3,000 in case of a cancelled or missed flight, without requiring a form or a wait. Customers can book a new flight through the ACKO app to use the rebooking benefit, with the plan covering eligible flights during the year.

Varun Dua, founder, ACKO, said: “Insurance has always defined itself by the worst day in someone’s life, the accident, the surgery, the cancelled flight. Our job is to show up for our customers and provide protection before something goes wrong, not just the moment something breaks.”

The company further said that its repair and roadside assistance network now services around 2,500 cars a month, twice its capacity a year ago. According to ACKO, its motor insurance claim settlement ratio is around 99.40 per cent, while its repudiation rate is 0.60 per cent. The company said these figures have consistently placed it among the top three insurers in the category.
