The Andhra Pradesh government has opened a fresh application window for social security pensions under the NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme from September 7 to 16. The process is aimed at bringing eligible people into the state’s pension system.
Applications can be submitted at Swarna Gramam and Swarna Ward centres. The government has fixed separate timelines for online registration, verification, approval and sanction of pensions.
Application And Verification Schedule
Applications for NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme have to be submitted between September 7 and 16. During this period, details will be registered online, and applicants will undergo e-KYC verification.
The initial eligibility check has been scheduled for September 17 to 21. Physical and departmental verification, along with assessment of eligibility and recommendations, will take place from September 22 to 24.
Budget proposals through the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty, or SERP, and the government approval process will be carried out on September 25 and 26. Eligible applicants will then receive pension sanctions in phases after the scrutiny process has been completed.
Applicants have to submit the prescribed form and supporting documents at the relevant centre. An acknowledgement will be generated after online registration.
Documents Required For Different Categories
The documents required may vary according to the pension category. Aadhaar and a rice card or income certificate are among the documents generally required.
For old-age pension applications, Aadhaar will be used for age verification. Widows have to provide their husband's death certificate along with Aadhaar.
Single women have to submit a court divorce decree, where applicable, or an unmarried certificate issued by the Tahsildar. Applicants with disabilities have to provide a SADAREM certificate confirming a benchmark disability of at least 40 per cent.
Workers covered under specific occupational categories, including handloom workers, fishermen, Dappu artists, traditional footwear makers and toddy tappers, have to provide certificates from the relevant departments. Transgender applicants have to submit a certificate from the District Medical Board.
Pension Amount And Coverage
The NTR Bharosa scheme has covered around 28 pension categories, including elderly people, widows, persons with disabilities, single women and workers in specified occupations.
The state government has been providing pensions to 61,92,396 beneficiaries and has been spending about Rs 2,694 crore each month. The monthly pension for old-age and widow beneficiaries is Rs 4,000, while persons with disabilities receive Rs 6,000.
Certain beneficiaries with severe health conditions have been eligible for higher assistance of up to Rs 10,000. Pension support for people with complete disabilities can go up to Rs 15,000.
