Digital banking services like UPI, ATMs, and internet banking remain available for customers.
Branch services resume Monday, July 27, after weekend bank holiday closure.
Bank branches continue to be used for a variety of financial services, which include cash deposits, cheque clearance, passbook updates, account-related requests, and document submission. Before planning a visit today, customers should check whether banks are open or closed to avoid any inconvenience.
Banks will remain closed on July 25, 2026, in observance of the fourth Saturday of the month. According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) bank holiday calendar, bank branches remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month.
After the July 25 bank holiday, bank branches will remain closed again on July 26, 2026, as it falls on a Sunday. Sundays are weekly holidays for banks across the country under the RBI’s holiday schedule. Customers who need branch-based banking services should keep this in mind while planning their visits, as banks will reopen on the next working day.
Which Banking Services Will Be Unavailable
As a result, branch-based services such as cash deposits, cheque deposits, passbook updates, demand draft issuance, cash withdrawals at bank counters, document submission, and other over-the-counter banking services will not be available on these two days. Customers who need assistance at a bank branch are advised to plan their visits accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
Digital Banking Services To Continue
Even though bank branches will remain closed, customers can still carry out most banking transactions online. Internet banking and mobile banking services will remain available for National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT), Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), and Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) fund transfers, UPI payments, bill payments, balance enquiries, and downloading account statements. Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) will also continue to operate, which allows customers to withdraw cash and access other basic banking services without visiting a branch.
After the weekend, bank branches are scheduled to reopen on Monday, July 27, 2026. According to the RBI’s bank holiday calendar, no nationwide or state-specific bank holidays are scheduled between July 27 and August 1. The next scheduled weekly bank holiday will be on Sunday, August 2, when bank branches across the country will remain closed. Checking the RBI’s bank holiday calendar before visiting a branch can help customers avoid unnecessary travel and delays.
