Bitcoin trades around $82,828, maintaining its position above $80,000 for a week.
Institutional ETF flows, spot trading, and lower yields drive strong buying interest.

Bitcoin is holding above $80,000, with the cryptocurrency maintaining its position above this level in recent trading sessions. Investors are watching its price movement as the market assesses the factors influencing the cryptocurrency’s performance.
Bitcoin was trading at $82,828.41, up 0.15 per cent at the time of writing, while its price had gained 1.62 per cent over the period shown by the market data. According to CoinMarketCap data, Bitcoin has stayed above the $80,000 mark since October 16, holding above that level for nearly a week. However, it remains around 34 per cent below its all-time high of $126,198.
What Is Supporting Bitcoin’s Price?
Bitcoin’s ability to stay above $80,000 reflects buying interest at lower price levels, institutional demand and improving sentiment in global financial markets, according to Rajagopal Menon, Vice President at WazirX.
“Bitcoin’s ability to hold above $80,000 reflects the return of buying interest at lower price levels,” Menon said.
Minal Thukral, Executive Vice President and Growth and Crypto Business Head at CoinDCX, said, “ETF flows and spot trading volumes have been contributing to buying interest, while macroeconomic factors, including bond yields and Federal Reserve (Fed) policy expectations, continue to influence investor sentiment and liquidity.” He added that these factors had helped Bitcoin hold above the $81,500 support level.
Can Bitcoin Sustain Above $80,000?
Menon said the $80,000 to $81,500 range had emerged as an important support zone for Bitcoin, while resistance remained between $85,000 and $87,500. A sustained move above the resistance range could strengthen the case for further gains, while a fall below $80,000 could trigger another round of selling.
“The real test is not whether Bitcoin can cross $80,000 but whether it can defend that level when markets turn negative,” Menon said.
Thukral said Bitcoin’s near-term performance would depend on its ability to hold current support levels and sustain buying momentum. He added, “While short-term fluctuations could continue, the broader market remains constructive.”
