The GMP for Tata Capital’s unlisted shares ranges between Rs 7.5 and Rs 15, according to multiple websites which monitor the demand for unlisted shares. Based on the Rs 15, GMP, Tata Capital Ltd shares are expected to debut at Rs 341 apiece on the NSE with potential listing gains of 4.6 per cent. However, investors must note that GMP is an unofficial indicator of demand, and the listing price of any stock depends on multiple factors apart from the grey market premium.
Tata Capital IPO Subscription Update
Tata Capital IPO is off to a slow start, on the first day of bidding, the issue has been subscribed 18 per cent so far as investors placed bids for 58.4 million shares against the 333.4 million shares offered for subscription.
At the time of writing, qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) led the demand for the Tata Capital IPO. QIBs booked their quota in Tata Capital IPO 29 per cent, by placing bids for 27.5 million shares compared to the 94.89 million shares set aside for the category. Non-institutional investors (NIIs) applied for 6.66 million shares compared to the 71.19 million shares set aside for the category. So far Tata Capital IPO has been subscribed 9 per cent in the NII category.
Retail investors applied for 23.59 million shares compared to the 166.1 million shares set aside for the category. Tata Capital IPO has been booked 14 per cent in the retail category. Employees of the company booked their quota in Tata Capital IPO 46 per cent by bidding for 5,52,966 shares against the 1.2 million shares offered for subscription.
Tata Capital IPO Offer Size, Listing Date, Price Band
Tata Capital IPO issue size aggregates to Rs 15,511.87 crore and consists of a fresh equity issuance of 210 million shares aggregating to Rs 6,846 crore and an offer-for-sale of 265.79 million shares aggregating to Rs 8,665.87 crore. The price band for the Tata Capital IPO has been set at Rs 310 to Rs 326 per share.
Retail individual investors (RIIs) can apply for the NBFC’s public issue by bidding for a minimum of 46 shares or one lot aggregating to an investment of Rs 14,996. On the other hand, small NII investors can bid for the public issue by applying for 14 lots or 644 shares, which aggregates to an investment of Rs 2,09,944. Big NIIs can apply for the Tata Capital IPO by bidding for a minimum of 67 lots or 3,082 shares, resulting in an investment of Rs 10,04,732.
Tata Capital IPO’s share allotment status will be announced on October 9. Successful applicants will receive shares of the Tata group company in their demat accounts on October 10. Shares of Tata Capital will tentatively list on the BSE and NSE. Tata Capital Ltd shares will list on the NSE and BSE on October 13.
Tata Capital IPO: Anchor Investors
Tata Capital Ltd raised Rs 4,641.8 crore in its anchor investor round. As many as 135 anchor investors took part in the anchor investor round. The company allotted 14.23 crore equity shares to 135 anchor investors at Rs 326 per share. Notably, LIC came out as the biggest anchor investor. Other major investors in the anchor issue include Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Amansa Holdings, Nomura, Government Pension Global Fund, and WCM Investment Management. As many as 18 mutual fund houses also took part in the anchor issue; these included ICICI Prudential MF, HDFC AMC, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC, DSP MF and Axis Mutual Fund.
Tata Capital: Key Financials
Tata Capital’s total income for the quarter ended June 30, 2025 stood at Rs 7,691.65 crore, the NBFC’s profit-after-tax stood at Rs 1,040.93 crore and the net worth of the company stood at Rs 32,761.73 crore.
In FY25, Tata Capital’s total income increased by over 55 per cent to Rs 28,369.87 crore compared to Rs 18,198.38 crore in the preceding fiscal (FY24). The profit-after-tax of the Tata group company also increased by nearly 10 per cent to Rs 3655.02 crore in FY25 compared to Rs 3326.96 crore in FY24.

Tata Capital: Promoters
Tata Sons Private Ltd is the promoter of Tata Capital. Prior to the issue, the promoter had a 95.6 per cent stake in the company. The promoter’s stake will reduce to 85.5 per cent after the issue.
