The central government will auction three dated securities worth a total of Rs 32,000 crore on September 11, 2026. The securities include two re-issues and one new government security, with maturities ranging from 2029 to 2056.

Three Securities On Offer

The first security is the 6.20 per cent Government Security 2029, with a notified amount of Rs 11,000 crore and repayment scheduled for August 17, 2029.

The second is the 6.57 per cent Government Security 2033, also with a notified amount of Rs 11,000 crore. Its repayment date is August 17, 2033.

The third security is a new Government Security 2056, with a notified amount of Rs 10,000 crore. Repayment for this security is scheduled for September 15, 2056.

The auction will use the multiple price method. For the new security, the auction will be yield-based, while the re-issued securities will be auctioned on a price basis. Under the multiple price method, successful bidders will receive securities at their respective quoted yield or price.

Bidding And Settlement Details

Both competitive and non-competitive bids have to be submitted digitally, through the RBI's Core Banking Solution, known as the e-Kuber system.

Non-competitive bids can be submitted between 10:30 am and 11 am on September 11. The window for competitive bids will stay open from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Successful bidders will have to make payment on September 15, 2026.

Primary Dealers can submit bids for the Additional Competitive Underwriting portion between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on September 11.

Retail Investors Can Participate

Government securities up to 5 per cent of the notified amount for each security will be allotted to eligible individuals and institutions under the non-competitive bidding facility.

Individual investors can also place bids under the non-competitive scheme through the RBI Retail Direct portal. The minimum bid size is Rs 10,000, with further bids allowed in multiples of Rs 10,000.

The securities will also be eligible for "When Issued" trading from September 8 to September 11.

Interest on government securities is generally paid twice a year, subject to the terms specified in the relevant notification. The securities will also be eligible for repo transactions under applicable RBI directions.
