The initial public offering (IPO) of Molbio Diagnostics opened for subscription on August 10, 2026. The company's public issue is slated to close for subscription on August 12.
On the first day of subscription, the issue has been booked 72 per cent across categories at the time of writing. Here are some key details of the public issue which applicants should know before applying for the IPO.
Molbio Diagnostics IPO Subscription
The issue has been subscribed 72 per cent so far on the first day of subscription with buyers placing bids for 5.89 million shares compared to the 8.15 million shares set aside for subscription. Employees of the company booked their quota 1.84 times by applying for 37,710 shares compared to the 20,519 shares set aside for the category.
Retail investors booked their quota 62 per cent by applying for 2.53 million shares compared to the 4.06 million shares set aside for them. Non institutional investors (NIIs) applied for 988,362 shares compared to the 1.74 million shares set aside for the category. Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) fully booked their quota by applying for 2.33 million shares compared to the 2.32 million shares reserved for them.
Molbio Diagnostics IPO GMP
Shares of Molbio Diagnostics are currently commanding a grey market premium (GMP) of Rs 125 above the upper end of the price band. Based on the upper price band of Rs 807 and the current GMP trends, the shares are expected to list at Rs 932 apiece, indicating an estimated listing premium of 15.49 per cent. Investors must, however, note that GMP is an unofficial market indicator and does not guarantee actual listing performance.
Molbio Diagnostics IPO Offer Size, Listing Date, Price Band
The IPO issue size aggregates to Rs 939.70 crore and is a combination of a fresh issue of 2.50 million shares aggregating to Rs 200 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 9.20 million shares aggregating to Rs 739.70 crore.
The price band has been fixed at Rs 768-807 per share. Retail individual investors (RIIs) can apply for the diagnostics company’s public issue by placing bids for 18 shares or 1 lot, aggregating to a minimum investment of Rs 14,526 at the upper price band.
Molbio Diagnostics will finalise the share allotment status of the public issue on August 13. Successful applicants will receive shares of Molbio Diagnostics in their demat accounts on August 14. Refunds will be issued for unsuccessful applicants on August 14 as well. Shares of Molbio Diagnostics will tentatively list on the BSE and NSE on August 17.
Molbio Diagnostics: Key Financials
The diagnostic company’s total income for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026, stood at Rs 1,455.17 crore, up by 42 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) compared to Rs 1,027.94 crore. The company’s net profit for the same period grew by over 18 per cent to Rs 164.14 crore, compared to a net profit of Rs 138.58 crore in the preceding fiscal. The net worth of the company grew to Rs 1,144.68 crore compared to Rs 952.95 crore in the preceding fiscal.
Molbio Diagnostics IPO: Reservation
A major part of the public issue has been set aside for QIBs. As much as 35 per cent of the offer size is reserved for the retail category, while 15 per cent has been set aside for NIIs. The remaining 50 per cent is allocated to QIBs, including the anchor investor portion.
Molbio Diagnostics: Promoters
The promoters of the company include Sriram Natarajan, Chandrasekhar Bhaskaran Nair, Sangeetha Sriram, Shiva Sriram, Sowmya Sriram, and Exxora Trading LLP. Through the fresh issue and OFS routes, the promoters’ pre-issue holding of 44.89 per cent will reduce to 41.29 per cent once the stock lists.
Molbio Diagnostics IPO: Objective
The company plans to use the net proceeds of the public issue to fund capital expenditure towards the setting up of infrastructure for a research and development facility, a center of excellence, and connected office space. The proceeds will also be used for capital expenditure toward purchasing plant, machinery, and equipment for its Goa and Visakhapatnam units, as well as for general corporate purposes.
