Abakkus Mutual Fund has announced the launch of its maiden equity scheme, the Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund, along with the Abakkus Liquid Fund. The Flexi Cap Fund NFO will open on December 8, 2025, and close on December 22, 2025, while the Liquid Fund NFO will be available from December 8 to December 10, 2025.

The Abakkus Flexi Cap Fund is an open-ended equity scheme that will invest across large-cap, mid-cap and small-cap companies. The scheme aims to generate long-term capital appreciation and will invest at least 65 per cent of its assets in equity and equity-related instruments, up to 35 per cent in debt and money market instruments, and up to 10% in Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs). Its benchmark index will be the BSE 500 TRI.

All schemes under Abakkus Mutual Fund will follow the fund house’s in-house investment framework, MEETS, which evaluates companies based on Management quality, Earnings strength, Events/Trends, Timing, and Structural opportunity. The fund house has also outlined a five-step investment process called the 5Ds — Discovery, Delving, Developing, Detailing, and Delivering — to construct and execute the portfolio.

According to the fund house, India’s current economic landscape provides a favourable environment for equity investing. The country’s growth trajectory from a $4 trillion to an $8 trillion economy, supported by strong demographics, rising consumption, digital expansion and expected nominal GDP growth of 10–12%, creates opportunities for long-term investors. Equity penetration in household savings also remains comparatively low, offering further growth potential for the asset class.

Sunil Singhania, Founder, Abakkus Asset Manager Private Limited, said the AMC aims to apply a fundamentals-driven approach to equity investing backed by its experience in managing listed equities. Vaiibhavv Chugh, CEO, Abakkus Investment Managers Private Limited, said improving macro indicators such as strong GDP growth, low inflation, healthy forex reserves, consumption trends and supportive policy measures indicate a constructive market outlook.

The scheme will be managed by Sanjay Doshi, Head of Investments and Research at Abakkus AMC. The minimum investment amount is Rs 500, and the fund will be available in both Regular and Direct plans. Doshi said the scheme is designed with a focus on risk management and avoids momentum-driven investing, excessive churn and companies with high leverage.

The fund house has also launched the Abakkus Liquid Fund, intended for investors seeking short-term parking of funds with high liquidity.
