Share Market News: The benchmark indices snapped a three-session losing streak on June 4, 2025, as the Sensex and the Nifty closed marginally higher. The 30-share Sensex closed at 80,998.25 gaining 260.74 points or 0.32 per cent at the close. On the other hand, the Nifty 50 ended at 24,620.20, higher by 77.7 points or 0.32 per cent.
Eternal, Jio Finance and IndusInd Bank Emerge As Top Gainers
Shares of Eternal, Jio Finance and IndusInd Bank came out as the top-gainers among the Nifty 50 stock as they closed up to 3.21 per cent higher on the NSE. On the other hand, shares of Bajaj Finserv, Trent and Eicher Motors came out as top Nifty losers as they ended lower by 1.63 per cent.
Nifty Metals and Nifty Oil & Gas Lead Gainers
The Nifty Metals and Nifty Oil & Gas gained the most among sectoral indices, as they closed higher by up to 0.67 per cent. While most major sectoral indices ended higher on June 4, the Nifty Realty index bucked the trend to close lower by 0.70 per cent. Broader market indices also gained in today’s trade, as the Nifty SmallCap 100 and the Nifty MidCap 100 ended 0.71 per cent and 0.79 per cent higher.
Global Markets on June 4
US market indices ended higher on June 4 with the Dow Jones Futures, Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500 ending higher by up to 0.81 per cent or 156.34 points. At the time of writing, major European indices like the DAX Performance Index, CAC 40 and the FTSE 100 were trading higher by up to 0.58 per cent. Major Asian indices also traded in the green with the Nikkei 225, Hang Seng and Shanghai Composite trading higher by 0.8 per cent at the time of writing.
Three Stocks Debut On D-Street
Shares of Scoda Tubes, NR Vandana Tex Industries and Neptune Petrochemicals listed on their respective exchanges on June 4. Shares of Scoda Tubes listed on the exchanges at Rs 140 apiece, indicating a flat debut on the NSE and the BSE. Shares of NR Vandana Tex also debuted flat on the NSE SME platform at Rs 45 apiece, which is same as the issue price. Shares of Neptune Petrochemicals listed at Rs 132.75 per share on the NSE SME platform, indicating a premium of 8.80 per cent over the issue price of Rs 122 per share. On the other hand, the public issue of Ganga Bath Fittings opened for subscription today.
Market Cues
The Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI’s) monetary policy committee’s (MPC’s) rate setting meeting commenced today on June 4. D-Street expects the MPC to reduce the repo rate by 25 basis points (bps) bps to fuel growth.
