Summary of this article
Commercial LPG cylinder price in Delhi hiked by Rs 42.
Delhi commercial LPG rate has nearly doubled this year.
Domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged despite latest revision.
The price of 19-kg commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders have been increased again from June 1, 2026, adding to the cost burden on restaurants, hotels, caterers and other businesses that rely on cooking gas. The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has been raised by Rs 42 to Rs 3,113.50, while Kolkata has seen a steeper increase of Rs 53.50, taking the rate to Rs 3,255.50. Prices of 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders have also been increased by Rs 11. Domestic LPG cylinder prices, however, remain unchanged.
The latest revision extends a sharp upward trend in commercial LPG prices this year. In Delhi, a 19-kg commercial cylinder cost Rs 1,691.50 in January, but has now climbed to Rs 3,113.50 following a series of monthly revisions. The steepest increase came in April, when prices jumped by Rs 993 per cylinder. Commercial LPG rates have also risen sharply across major cities, with prices exceeding Rs 3,000 per cylinder in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Patna.
Commercial LPG Prices Rise Across Cities
The latest increase is part of a broader increase in commercial LPG prices this year. In February, prices were raised by Rs 49, followed by another hike of Rs 115 in March. The biggest jump came in April, when rates surged by Rs 993 per cylinder. After remaining elevated in May, prices have been increased again in June.
Across major cities, a 19-kg commercial cylinder now costs Rs 3,024.50 in Mumbai and Rs 3,232 in Chennai. Hyderabad and Patna are among the costliest markets, with prices at Rs 3,294 and Rs 3,322 respectively.
Supply Disruptions
Commercial LPG prices have remained under pressure amid supply disruptions in global energy markets. Tensions in the Middle East have negatively impacted energy supplies and pushed up LPG costs internationally. In response, the petroleum ministry has asked state-run fuel retailers to prepare plans for maintaining LPG stocks sufficient for at least 30 days of demand.
Impact On Businesses
The latest LPG revision comes alongside recent increases in other fuels. CNG prices in Delhi and adjoining areas have risen by Rs 6 per kg since May 15, while petrol and diesel prices have also moved higher in recent weeks.
For restaurants, hotels, cloud kitchens and caterers, commercial LPG is a major operating expense. Price hike of cooking gas, transport and fuel costs is likely to increase operating expenses for businesses and eventually inflate prices paid by consumers.
