The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased the fee for its FASTag Annual Pass by Rs 75, raising it from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075 for the financial year 2026-27. The updated fee will apply from April 1, 2026, and has been introduced in line with the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, which was affirmed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Introduction And Adoption
On August 15, 2025, the FASTag Annual Pass was launched and was intended to provide financial support to high highway users. The facility has experienced gradual acceptance by owners of personal vehicles in the country since its introduction. NHAI has claimed that it already has over 56 lakh users of the annual pass.
The pass allows qualified non-commercial vehicles that have an authorised FASTag and may be used in approximately 1,150 fee plazas in national highways and expressways. It enables the user to pay once every month rather than recharging their FASTag often. The pass will have the validity of one year or 200 toll crossings, whichever is reached first.
What Is the FASTag Annual Pass?
The FASTag Annual Pass is a simplified payment of tolls as it is connected to the vehicle's current FASTag, an RFID tag that automatically subtracts toll payments, deducting the user in his/her pre-paid wallet or bank account. After the payment of the annual pass is done, within 2 hours, it is activated and validated for 12 months, or 200 toll plaza crossings.

All the qualified non-commercial vehicles with an active FASTag will be charged the revised fee. The pass is accepted in approximately 1,150 fee plazas on the national expressways and highways, and covers a large network of toll points for frequent travellers.
How To Activate The Pass
The FASTag Annual Pass is available to motorists online on the Rajmarg Yatra App or through the official site of NHAI. After the completion of payment, a pass is pushed on the existing FASTag attached to the vehicle, usually within two hours. This guarantees the instantaneous access to the goodness of unlimited toll crossings inside the pass limits.
