The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme gives financial support to farmers across India. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually in three instalments of Rs 2,000 each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). With 20 instalments already released, anticipation is now building for the upcoming 21st instalment.
When Will Farmers Get 21st instalment
Earlier, it was widely expected that the Rs 2,000 instalment would be credited to farmers' accounts before Diwali. However, the payment has been delayed, and many beneficiaries are still waiting for the 21st instalment. As per media reports, it's now expected that the central government may release the payment in the first week of November while no official confirmation has been made so far.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, during his visit to Vellore, Tamil Nadu, addressed concerns about missing names in the PM-Kisan beneficiary list. He urged the Tamil Nadu government to expedite essential processes such as Aadhaar seeding, e-KYC, and land verification to ensure that all eligible farmers are covered under the scheme.
He added that he would be writing to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to share a verified list of eligible farmers so that pending payments can be released as soon as possible.
21st PM-Kisan Payment Released in These States
The 21st instalment of the PM-Kisan scheme in four states. Farmers in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand received over Rs 540 crore on September 26, 2025, benefiting nearly 2.7 million farmers. Later, on October 7, 2025, Rs 171 crore was credited to the accounts of 855,000 farmers in Jammu & Kashmir.
These early disbursements were meant to offer quick financial relief to farmers, enabling them to manage household needs and continue their farming activities without delay.
PM-Kisan e-KYC Process
Completing e-KYC is mandatory to receive PM-Kisan instalments. Farmers can do this by applying to the official PM-Kisan website at pmkisan.gov.in and adding their Aadhaar-linked mobile number via OTP. Also, the process can be completed through the PM-Kisan mobile app or offline at any Common Service Centre (CSC) using biometric authentication
