Summary of this article
EPFO will host a live interactive session on 18 August 2026 at 12 noon.
Members can join the session on EPFO's official YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram channels and get answers to their queries on pension.
EPFO experts will address issues like pension calculation, eligibility, service period, claim delays, balance transfer, etc.
If you have a doubt related to your employee provident fund (EPF) or employee pension scheme (EPS), you can clarify that in the live session with the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on August 18, 2026, at 12:00 noon. The organisation has announced a live interactive session, which aims to provide a platform for members and stakeholders to clarify their doubts directly with experts and get a resolution for pension-related, document-related, and other issues.
To ensure easy accessibility, the EPFO will broadcast the session across its official social media channels, including YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. This open session will allow members to connect with EPFO online via mobile or computer and get answers to their questions. They don’t need to physically visit EPFO branches. Participants can ask their queries directly in the comments section during the broadcast, which will then be conveyed to a panel of experts for real-time answers.
The session is coming at a time when EPFO is navigating systemic changes following the migration to the new IT systems recently. The EPFO web portal interface has changed, and a few of the options from the member portal have been shifted to the UMANG app.
The other significant change has been the implementation of the EPF 2026 and the EPS 2026, replacing the decade-old legacy EPF and EPS Acts. These structural shifts have left many members unclear about the new rules and updated procedures, and the online option now available to them.
While the session will cover a broad range of topics, the primary focus remains on the EPS. Experts are prepared to clarify doubts regarding pension calculation, eligibility requirements, service period, etc.
As per the official Facebook page of the EPFO, “Questions related to EPS claim and necessary documents will be discussed; experts will answer your questions.”
Although EPFO schemes have existed for a long time, people often get confused regarding pension calculation, eligibility, benefits, service period, balance transfer requirements, voluntary provident fund, accessing pension records after changing jobs, especially when the previous organisation was an exempted trust, claim settlement, grievance escalation, etc.
So, the experts directly clearing individuals’ doubts could be immensely helpful for members, especially those who have been following up for a long time for redressal of their grievance, but are not getting an appropriate response from the EPFO.
For those who faced delays in traditional grievance redressal channels, this session offers a rare opportunity for direct dialogue. Experts directly clearing individual doubts is expected to be immensely helpful for members who have been following up with EPFO for a long time without receiving a response or an appropriate response.
Historically, a large number of queries that EPFO receives are related to claims and withdrawals, an important facility which has been made more flexible recently, allowing members to withdraw up to 75 per cent of the contribution; however, if the feature doesn’t work as it is intended, it is of no use. The online session by the EPFO is expected to address these concerns and provide information on the relevant processes and clear members’ doubts regarding grievance redressal through this session.
Members can use this opportunity to get clarity on their individual cases and stay informed on the latest developments in EPF and EPS management.
