I had invested in the NFO of L&T Equity Fund in 2005 but forgot about it later. Should I redeem my investment now or stay invested in this fund?
-Dipak Mittal, Noida

The stated objective of this fund is to generate long-term capital growth from a diversified portfolio of predominantly equity and equityrelated securities. The scheme has posted about 18 per cent returns since inception. So, even if you had invested in it and forgotten for over a decade, the returns you earn are significant. You could stay invested in this fund based on its performance as long as it meets the primary reason for investing in it; if not, you should consider exiting it.
