8th Pay Commission Portal Open For Suggestions: How To Submit A Response

The 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC) has invited suggestions, representations, and memoranda from different stakeholders, including government departments, ministries, employee unions, retirees' association, employees, and individuals, regarding changes in salary, allowance, pension, and more. Stakeholders can submit their representation or memorandum by April 30, 2026. There is also an 18-question questionnaire, to which stakeholders can submit their response by March 16, 2026.

Historically, the CPC is formed every 10 years, which evaluates the salary structure, pension, allowances, among other service-related reforms, etc., and other factors such as inflation, among others, and gives its recommendation to the government about where to increase the payout, how much to increase, among other related reforms. The revision in the salary and allowance is based on a formula and a recommended fitment factor.

The recommendations of the CPC, based on which the government decides the salary revision, make the entire process, starting from gathering suggestions, representations, etc., extremely crucial.

Note that there are approximately 5 million (50.14 lakh) central government employees and around 6.9 million (69 lakh) old pension scheme (OPS) pensioners who will be affected by the recommendation at first. Later, the changes will percolate to the state government employees, too. So, it is crucial for stakeholders to send their response and representation to the 8th CPC within the timeline.

The Commission will use these suggestions to understand the concerns of employees, pensioners, and others and their expectations from the CPC.

Who Can Submit The Response And Representations?

The portal is accepting the responses in four buckets from four categories of stakeholders. These are:

·       Individual/Employee/Pensioner

·       Union/ Association of employees or pensioners

·       Ministry/Department/Union Territory (UT)

·       Judicial Officers

How To Submit The Suggestions

Any of the abovementioned stakeholders can submit suggestions on the official MyGov portal only. The Commission will not consider any email or offline submission in this regard.

·       Register on the portal with your email ID or mobile number and the OTP

·       Sign in with the email ID or mobile number and password

·       On the next screen, select the concern (salary, allowance, and so on), and then in the box next to it write about it in detail, and in the next box write the suggestion.

The maximum limit is 3,500 words for the suggestion for each of the questions.
