Share Market News: The headline indices finished flat with marginal gains on July 7. The Sensex ended at 83,442.5 up by 9.61 points or 0.01 per cent. On the other hand, the Nifty 50 closed at 25,461.3 up by 0.3 points. The market recovered from the day’s low to close flat as investors remained cautious days ahead of the US President Donald Trump’s July 9 trade tariff deadline.
FMCG Stocks Emerges As Top Gainers
Shares of FMCG companies gained the most among Nifty 50 constituents. Shares of Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Tata Consumer Products Ltd and Nestle India closed higher by up to 2.97 per cent and came out as top-gainers. On the other hand, Bharat Electronics Ltd, Tech Mahindra and ONGC shares emerged as top drags among constituents of the benchmark Nifty, finishing lower by up to 2.47 per cent. Among the Nifty 50 constituents, 22 stocks finished in the green while 28 stocks finished in the red.

Nifty Oil & Gas and Nifty FMCG Surge
The Nifty FMCG and the Nifty Oil & Gas came out as top gainers among sectoral indices. The Nifty Oil & Gas finished the session 1.68 per cent higher and the Nifty Oil & Gas ended 0.41 per cent higher, the gains came even as the benchmarks traded lower. Conversely, the Nifty IT and Nifty Metal declined the most among sectoral indices as they finished lower by 0.76 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively. The broader market indices also slipped into the red on July 7 as the Nifty MidCap 100 and the Nifty SmallCap 100 closed 0.27 per cent and 0.44 per cent lower.

Global Markets on July 7
Ahead of the July 9 deadline Asian markets closed the session mixed today. The Hang Seng index and the Nikkei 225 finished the session lower down by 0.12 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively. However South Korea’s KOSPI and China’s Shanghai Composite closed the session with marginal gains of 0.17 per cent and 0.02 per cent respectively.
Primary Market Action On July 7
Chemkart India IPO, Smarten Power Systems IPO and Travel Food Services IPO opened for bidding on July 7. On the other hand, the Cryogenic OGS IPO and the Happy Square Outsourcing Services IPO closed for bidding. Shares of Vandan Foods Ltd, Marc Loire Fashions Ltd, Cedaar Textile Ltd, Pushpa Jewellers Ltd and Silky Overseas Ltd were listed on the SME exchanges on July 7.
