Share Market Today: Sensex and and Nifty continued to gain for the fourth consecutive day on June 27 amid investor optimism regarding easing geopolitical tensions and positive domestic cues. The 50-share Nifty finished the session 88.8 points or 0.35 per cent higher at 25,637.8. On the other hand, BSE Sensex closed the session at 84,058.90, up by 303.03 points or 0.36 per cent. Notably, the headline indices finished the session at a 9-month high after continuing the rally for four straight days.

Jio Finance, Asian Paints and Apollo Hospitals Lead Gainers

Jio Finance emerged as the top-Nifty gainer on June 27 as the stock closed 3.87 per cent higher. Other major Nifty gainers included Asian Paints and Apollo Hospitals which closed higher by 3.15 per cent and 2.94 per cent respectively. On the other hand shares of Tata Consumer Products Ltd and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories emerged as top losers among Nifty 50 stocks as they closed 2.13 per cent and 1.44 per cent lower respectively.

SMID Indices Extends Gains For Sixth Straight Session

SmallCap and MidCap stocks extended gains for the sixth consecutive day on June 27. The Nifty SmallCap 100 and the Nifty MidCap 100 finished the session higher by 0.91 per cent and 0.27 per cent, respectively. The India VIX index declined 1.6 per cent at the close indicating a reduction in volatility in upcoming sessions amid an easing in geopolitical tensions. The Nifty Pharma and the Nifty Oil & Gas rallied the most among all sectoral indices as they finished the session higher by up to 1.6 per cent. On the other hand, the Nifty IT and the Nifty FMCG closed the session lower by 0.02 per cent and 0.44 per cent respectively and emerged as top drags among the sectoral pack.

Global Markets on June 27

On June 26, the Wall Street Indices finished in the green with the DJIA and the Nasdaq finishing the session higher by nearly 1 per cent each. On the other hand the S&P 500 closed the session higher by 8 per cent at 6,141.02 levels. Asian markets closed the session mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 finished the session higher on June 27 at 40,150.79 up by 566.21 points or 1.41 per cent. On the other hand the Hang Seng and the Shanghai Composite finished the session in the red, closing up to 0.71 per cent lower.

Primary Market Action On June 27

The public issues of Adcounty Media India IPO and Neetu Yoshi IPO opened for subscription on June 27. On the other hand, shares of Mayasheel Ventures Ltd, Safe Enterprises Retail Fixtures Ltd, and Aakaar Medical Technologies Ltd made their D-street debut on the NSE SME Emerge platform.

Market Cues On June 27

According to reports, an India-UK Free Trade Agreement is likely to be signed by the end of July. On the other hand, PM Modi is expected to embark on a five-nation tour on July 2. The tour will also include the PM’s visit to Brazil to bolster trade ties between BRICS nations.
