Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro lineup is expected to launch in the coming months. The device is now in focus after a ransomware attack is believed to have exposed sensitive supply chain information and images linked to the upcoming models from one of Apple’s suppliers.

The leaked files reportedly contain sensitive lists of components and suppliers linked to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models, along with photographs of devices undergoing testing at a Tata Electronics facility in India, according to Reuters.

iPhone 18 Pro Supply Chain Leak

Tata Electronics, which both supplies components and assembles iPhones as a contract manufacturer, has become an increasingly important partner for Apple outside China, supporting the company’s ongoing manufacturing expansion in India.

In total, the leaked files are believed to contain details of hundreds of components linked to the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Some of the leaked documents reportedly include Apple's confidential markings, along with internal code names linked to the iPhone 18 Pro generation.

It is reported that World Leaks, a ransomware group, has released more than 200,000 files on the dark web following a breach of Tata Electronics’ systems. The leaked dataset is also said to contain newly reviewed documents, indicating that at least six files map multiple components of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models to specific suppliers responsible for their production.

As reported by the agency’s sources, the leaked folder includes photographs showing iPhones undergoing drop tests at a Tata facility, dated early 2026. The images depict a slab-style grey handset with a triple rear camera setup and an Apple logo. While the exact model number could not be independently confirmed, the photos are believed to show iPhone 18 Pro models.

There are rumours about the Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, including expected features, pricing and launch timing, although Apple has not made any official confirmation regarding the launch schedule.

What to Expect from iPhone 18 Pro Series

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman believes that Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra announcement is likely to take place on either September 8 or September 9.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Gurman noted, “Based on Apple’s historical launch patterns, the announcement is most likely to fall on Tuesday, September 8, or Wednesday, September 9. But Labour Day is on September 7, Apple may prefer a brief gap day for travel logistics, making September 9 a more likely option.”

According to media reports citing research firm IDC, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could see a price increase of up to USD 200 (approximately Rs 18,956) compared to the current generation iPhone.

The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is rumoured to be powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip built on TSMC’s 2nm process, offering improved performance, efficiency, and AI capabilities. It may retain a triple 48MP rear camera setup with a variable-aperture main sensor, along with 12GB RAM and iOS 27 featuring enhanced Apple Intelligence and Siri upgrades.
