If you are one of the over 9 crore farmers waiting for the next PM-KISAN installment, keep an eye on your bank account, there is a good chance the money might come in today, June 20.

Though there has been no official confirmation by the government yet, many media reports state that the 20th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi may get credited on June 20 or over the course of this month.

PM-KISAN is a central sector scheme launched by the Modi government in February 2019 to provide financial support to land-holding farmers in India.

The scheme provides Rs 6,000 a year to eligible farmers in three parts. The last one, Rs 2,000, was released in February during a public event in Bihar.

But here's the catch. Just because the installment is due it does not mean everyone will get it on time. Some might not get it at all unless certain checks are in place.

What Could Hold Up Your PM-KISAN Payment?

A few common snags have been causing payment failures for farmers, and they are mostly linked to paperwork and verification issues.

1. e-KYC Not Done?

The government has made it clear, no e-KYC, no money. If you have not done it yet, your name may not make it to the final beneficiary list.

2. Aadhar Link Is Mandatory

The financial benefit under this scheme is transferred in three equal instalments, into the Aadhaar seeded bank accounts of farmers, Therefore it is important to make sure your Aadhar is correctly linked to your bank account. Sometimes it could be just a small error, like a digit off in your account number or IFSC code, that can block the credit.

3. DBT Issues

It is also important to make sure that the bank account linked with your Aadhaar is active since the instalments of this scheme get directly transferred to your account.

4. Unverified Land Record Not Verified?

Among all the things, land ownership is equally as important when it comes to eligibility of this scheme. If your land documents are incomplete or have not been verified by local authorities, that could be a problem too.

5. Not Eligible?

It is worth checking whether you still qualify. The scheme is only for small and marginal landholding farmers. If you are a government employee, pay income tax, draw a pension above Rs 10,000, or belong to other excluded categories, you will not be eligible, regardless of past payments.

How To Check If Your Name Is On the Beneficiary List

If you want to double-check your status, it is straightforward process to follow:

  • Go to https://pmkisan.gov.in

  • Click on the Dashboard tab on the right

  • Fill in your State, District, Sub-District, and Panchayat

  • Click Show, and then ‘Get Report’

Once done, you will be able to see whether your name is listed or not.

You can also check your e-KYC and Aadhaar seeding status using the ‘Know Your Status’ option on the same site.

What You Can Do Now?

If your payment has not come in and you suspect something is off, the best thing is to visit your local Common Service Centre (CSC) or speak to your block-level agriculture office. These officials can usually help fix issues like incorrect bank details or e-KYC problems.
