May 1 is celebrated as International Workers’ Day or Labour Day across the world, including in India. This date also holds special importance for Maharashtra as it commemorates its formation on this day in 1960.
If you have any bank-related work lined up this week, you need to plan accordingly, as banks in many parts of the country will remain shut on May 1, 2025. While you may not be able to visit physical branches for services like deposits, new account openings, loan applications or cheque clearances, most online banking services will remain operational. These include services like fund transfers, bill payments, checking balances, or cash withdrawals at ATMs.

If you prefer going to the bank in person, make sure to check the holiday schedule for your state or area, as some holidays might only apply to certain places.
