Farmers enrolled under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme are set to receive the next instalment of financial assistance under the programme on June 20, 2026. Beneficiaries have been advised to ensure that their Aadhaar is linked to their bank account and that the mandatory e-know-your-customer (e-KYC) process has been completed to avoid any disruption in payment.
Eligible beneficiaries will receive a monetary assistance of Rs 2,000 directly in their bank accounts through the direct benefit transfer (DBT) method. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to release the funds from Tarakeswar in Hooghly district of West Bengal. The previous instalment was released on March 13, 2026, in Guwahati, Assam.
What is the PM Kisan Scheme
The PM-Kisan scheme provides eligible farmer families with financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually. The amount is paid in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 through the year. The assistance is intended to help farmers meet agricultural expenses, including the purchase of seeds, fertilisers, equipment and other cultivation-related inputs.
How Farmers Can Check Beneficiary Status
Farmers can check whether their names are included in the beneficiary list through the PM-Kisan portal. To check the beneficiary status, farmers need to visit the “Farmers Corner” section on the website.
After selecting the “Beneficiary List” option, beneficiaries can choose their state, district, block and village to generate the report. The portal then displays the names of beneficiaries registered in the selected area.
Cases that May Face Withhold of Payment
The government has identified certain cases that may require verification before benefits are released. These include farmers who acquired ownership of agricultural land after February 1, 2019, and cases where more than one member of the same family is receiving benefits under the scheme. Payments in such cases may remain on hold until physical verification is completed.
e-KYC Remains Mandatory
Completion of e-KYC is mandatory for all registered PM-Kisan beneficiaries. Farmers who have not completed the process may not receive the upcoming instalment. Beneficiaries can complete the OTP-based e-KYC process online by entering their Aadhaar number on the PM-Kisan portal and verifying it through a one-time password (OTP).
